Dr. Koylass graduated Cum Laude from University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Following her undergraduate education, she attended Howard University College of Dentistry, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Koylass then pursued specialty training in periodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. While in her periodontics residency she received comprehensive training in periodontal and implant surgery. In addition, Dr. Koylass completed a Masters of Biomedical Science in combination with her Masters Certificate in Periodontics degree.
After spending ten years pursuing tertiary education in the United States, she returned to her home in Trinidad and Tobago. Throughout her education, she has been recognized with awards and scholarships for outstanding academic achievement. Now in private practice, Dr. Koylass continually engages in continuing education courses to keep her abreast of changes and advances in her specialty.
She is passionate about periodontics and is highly experienced in the non-surgical and surgical management of periodontal diseases including bone grafting, implantology, soft tissue periodontal plastics procedures and oral medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology and the Trinidad and Tobago Dental Association.
In addition to practicing periodontics, Dr. Koylass enjoys travelling, art and community service.
